A Day in Cefalù, the Tyrrhenian Pearl
Fishing Village
Located on the northern coast of Sicily and just one hour from Palermo’s train station, the former fishing village of Cefalù offers a peaceful escape for a day away from the city’s hustle and bustle. Its historic center, with its Arab-Norman style and impressive cathedral, a medieval Sicilian fortress-like construction, places Cefalù among the most beautiful villages in Sicily.
That day, we enjoyed a cappuccino on the large square facing the cathedral. The weather was stormy, and the facades along the waterfront took on golden and ochre hues. We wandered through the town’s heights and the rocks overlooking the sea, before finally relaxing on the beach.
